"Project Runway" host Tim Gunn joined Kathie Lee and Hoda on Friday to chat about his Emmy nomination and the show's upcoming season, and the fashion consultant suited up, despite a blistering heat wave in New York City.
Did you like Gunn's look? Here's what he was wearing:
- Suitsupply suit
- Suitsupply shoes
Gunn, 59, said he used to spend a fortune on suits, but a recent discovery has allowed him to dress well for less.
"This suit is from Suitsupply, which is a company out of the Netherlands. Their first non-European outpost was here in New York about two years ago, and I read a review in the New York Times and thought ... 'this sounds too good to be true,'" Gunn said. "I went down to SoHo to check them out, and I haven't been back to Saks, Bergdorfs or Barney's since. This suit is $600! It's phenomenal."
Despite the hot summer day, Gunn was fully decked out, and said many are taking the wrong approach when it comes to dressing in warm weather.
"For a guy, this (suit) hides a world of sins ... the jacket hides everything. Otherwise, I'd be a stained mess. I mean, I am a stained mess, but you don't see it," Gunn explained. "Dark colors are better than light, because if they do get wet, they show it less."
