3. While promoting his new book “Heart,” former Vice President Dick Cheney talked politics on Monday morning with Savannah Guthrie, calling the Tea Party a positive influence.

“It’s an uprising, in part, and the good thing is it’s taken place within the Republican party,” he said. “I don’t see it as a negative. I think it’s much better to have that kind of ferment and turmoil and change in the Republican party than it would be to have it outside.”

4. Christie Brinkley stopped by the studio to talk about her famous cover photo shoots for Sports Illustrated and the new book “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful.”

“Gosh, you guys are making such a big deal about turning 50,” the 59-year-old model joked with Matt. “Come talk to me when you turn 60.”
