The spirit of Joe Ades, the beloved Park Avenue potato peeler who died earlier this month, lives on. The New York Post reports that his daughter, Ruth Ades-Laurent, has taken over his spot at the Union Square Greenmarket, selling the $5 vegetable peelers that made her father famous.
Ades-Laurent expects to be hawking peelers every Saturday, in memory of her dad.
"He'd say, 'You better be careful. If I go, these are your inheritance,'" Ades-Laurent told the Post.
