So I hit the town with Jason Priestley here in Vancouver the other night. Yes, that Jason Priestley -- from "90210" fame. He's a Vancouver native and came up to show me his favorite haunts.

The bronze goes to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. This is a pedestrian bridge suspended high above a creek surrounded by steep forested hillside. The view is absolutely stunning. Jason says he went there a lot as a kid. It's less than 15 minutes from downtown in West Vancouver. I only give it the bronze because it sways quite a bit and I kept thinking of that Indian Jones movie where the rope bridge collapses as he runs across it.
I award the silver to the Sea Bus. This is a really efficient ferry that crosses the harbor between North Vancouver and downtown. It's a lot faster than driving, plus the view of the Vancouver skyline, especially with the late afternoon sun was breathtaking.
The Gold goes to a trendy, and delicious Indian cuisine place called Vij's Rangoli. I can't recall the dishes I ate, but one was described as an "Indian nacho." They were all delicious and we washed them down with a nice Pinot Gris produced here in British Columbia. (who knew they made wine up here?) Anyway, Jason made quite a stir here among the other patrons, who lined up for photos with the handsome young star.
I've been coming to Vancouver for years but a big thanks to Jason for showing it to me like never before.
