Power to the People.WATCH VIDEO

While many parents, I'm sure, will agree with Laura's points, it is interesting to note that Laura herself is not a parent and has not stepped into a parent's shoes before stating what parents should do.

Here is a sampling of some of the things you had to say about the segment from our viewer email folder - send us your thoughts as well:

I agree whole-heartedly with Laura Ingraham. Sex and nudity on TV and explicit lyrics in music is out of control.

I can't watch TV (even the news or the Today show) or listen to the radio with my 7 year old son for fear of what

images might come on or what might be said.

Frankly, I was shocked (and I am from New York, originally), at Ms. Ingraham's behavior. If she dislikes NBC so much, then why not be truthful about it and just tell NBC that discrediting (by innuendo), NBC is/was her real reason for coming on the Today show program? Why bother coming on the show to "bash" your Today program and the entire NBC organization under false pretenses? The premise was (so portrayed), to discuss her book "More Power To The People", re: Ms. Ingraham's opinion of the deterioration of society, particularly its "icons" to which young people used to aspire to be. (Obviously, the three detractors mentioned are not even worth mentioning by name. And yes, we do have serious issues to contend with in media broadcast, of such behaviors as seen on MTV, etc.). Ms. Ingraham's book became shadowed way behind her political agenda during this one-sided interview (more like a grilling of both David and NBC).

Amen! Thank you Laura Ingraham! I love the Today Show. I am not bagging on the Today Show. But I despise the filth that is sometimes broadcast from your program. I want to know that when I am watching your program my kids and I our safe from harm. I despise the porn that flashes on the screen any time of day. Whether it is commercials or programs our kids aren't safe. Pretty sad. Please do something about this. Take the higher road. Take a stand. We the people deserve it. You have a great opportunity to make a difference!

This is my first visit to the Today show website - and it was prompted by Ms. Ingraham's appearance on your program. She apparently is outraged at our culture but attempts to profit from it. Her interview was disjointed and her criticism of the Today show was just plain weird, as the images were setting up the discussion for her book. For those reasons and more, I enjoyed watching David Gregory stick it to her.
