"Education Nation" 2011 will be held the week of Sept. 25 in New York City. Teachers, policymakers, business leaders, parents and citizens will all convene for a national summit on challenges and solutions in American education, while content about the topic appears on-air on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Telemundo, as well as online at msnbc.com, today.com, and TheGrio.com.

But the experience isn't confined to the Big Apple alone: "Education Nation On-The-Road" will bring panels and events involving NBC News anchors and correspondents as well as local leaders, educators, parents and students to other cities for a week at a time, including Chicago (starting May 1), Los Angeles (May 13), and Philadelphia (June 5). Its centerpiece will be a traveling public exhibition filled with news, information and interactive activities. In addition, NBC News and the network's local stations will hold Teacher Town Hall meetings in each city, where educators can talk about what works in the classroom and panel discussions will focus on how America's students can compete in the global economy.

During each week of "Education Nation On-The-Road," education will be spotlighted both in local news coverage by NBC stations and in special reports on TODAY, "NBC Nightly News," MSNBC and CNBC. In addition, there will be up-to-date information on all activities and live streaming of the Teacher Town Halls and panel discussions at educationnation.com.
