On Tuesday, Natalie shared a wedding photo that was taken at a time when her father was still sporting -- as she put it -- a "bad piece."
On Wednesday, her father, Mario, had a chance to defend his old hairpiece. He called in during the Take Three segment to speak on behalf of the toupee his daughter had mocked on national television, which she actually begged him not to wear to her nuptials.
"I've taken a lot of flak over the years for wearing that," Mario admitted on the phone. "We used to call it the 'rat rug.'"
Al asked if he got much reaction from family and friends after the photo aired Tuesday, and Mario said he was inundated with phone calls. Thankfully, he was a very good sport about the whole thing.
"He knows it was a bad piece!" Natalie insisted, and joked that when her father finally decided to ditch the wig, it got its own memorial service. Mario said that he was just glad to put that chapter of bad hair behind him, and the two exchanged "I love you"s.
"Do you feel better having worked through that?" Willie asked.
Natalie said she did, and added, "Thanks for that little therapy session."
