Will you come home with me and see my stamp collection?

One of the things you can’t see from my sparse photos of my office space, are the piles of used stamps that I have lying around. They are not for me, I haven’t yet reached that level of geekiness. My dad, however, has. He used to collect stamps as a little boy, then stopped when he got older. But now that he is unable to work, he has taken up collecting again, and I do my best to supplement his stamp albums. All mail to our department plus our sub departments goes through me and my co-workers, so I have made a habit of ripping stamps of envelopes and send them to my dad. Living in a larger city, I’ve also been able to buy him some stamp collecting equipment, such as stamp liquids, magnifying glasses and albums. There’s this specialty store downtown that sells only stamps and model airplanes, and the man who works there is really dedicated to his job, so I like going there every now and then to get gifts for my dad - who by the way totally deserves more mention
