Filed under: USC Football, Pac 10, NCAA FB Police Blotter, Los AngelesThe USC Trojans took the weekend off preparing for their first road trip of the season to Lincoln, Nebraska, this Saturday, which made it plausible when Pete Carroll received a phone call from the Claremont Police Department saying that they had arrested one of his players over the weekend.Officers informed the Trojans' Head Coach that they had arrested USC Defensive Tackle Fili Moala for public intoxication in the bucolic San Gabriel Valley community. That news came as a shock to the Trojan tackle.According to news accounts, the suspect who did not have identification on him told police that his name was that of Moala, that he wore the #75 for the Trojans and that, "Coach Carroll is going to kill me."After comparing the mugshot to Moala's picture on the USC website and checking fingerprints, however, the crack detective squad in Claremont realized they'd been had.False identification in arrest [LA Times]Permalink [ Full article ] |
