God says that He will give us beauty for ashes. The question is, where do the ashes come from? I pondered this the other night as I lay awake trying to fall asleep after a very long drive. Sleep was no where to be found. But this is what came to me. Before we see the beauty of silver or gold it goes through the fire where all that is impure burns off. That's where the ashes come from. The refiners fire comes to our lives to burn away the impurities, and to reveal what is hidden inside. The fire reveals the truth of the beauty within. If there was no beauty within, there would be nothing to be revealed. We have so much beauty within. So much that He wants to reveal in us and through us.
