What's the problem the Capitol Police have with Rev. Lennox Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus? On September 10th, Rev. Yearwood waited in line all morning to be admitted with the rest of the public to the appearance of Gen. David Petraeus before the House Armed Services committee hearing, only to be stopped by the Capitol Police, who noticed he was wearing a pin that said, "I Love the People of Iraq." Tensions rose over Rev. Yearwood's targeting (including his claim that the Capitol Police told him they were allowing only seven "peace people" into the room at once), and the incident ended with Yearwood being gang tackled in the hallway, breaking his leg, and being arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct. Those charges were dismissed yesterday, but Rev. Yearwood was stopped by Capitol Police again today, as he attempted to enter the Government Oversight committee's Blackwater hearings, again having waited in line with the public for several hours.
