What Is A Lie?

H/T to SDWC Am I the only one that thinks that those on Tim Johnson’s staff might want to think about moving on to other issues? Over the weekend Johnson Chief of Staff Drey Samuelson responded to the criticism by the South Dakota media over the interview/no interview by ABC’s Bob Woodruff. Apparently he doesn’t understand why they think they were lied to. But lying means knowingly attempting to deceive, and while we obviously kept the Woodruff project a secret, for reasons that seemed to make sense at the time, we didn’t view what Woodruff was doing as an “interview” (which I think of as something that is published or aired shortly after it’s completed), but really more as a documentary of Tim’s recovery over months of time. It wouldn’t be broadcast until after Tim’s return to the state (if it were aired at all), so South Dakotans would still see him before anyone else. So according to Samuelson, Woodruff’s asking
