At Chicago’s O’Hare airport, security finds “something” in my bag and calls me over to go through the contents. “You muat have lotions or perfume,” says security. He pulls out a cardboard box in which is another box. “Uh, maybe,” I say. I explain that the box in question was included in a “gift bag” with my BlogHer conference registration. Security opens the box and pulls out a packet of travel size lotions, shampoo, eye cream. “Do you have a ziploc bag?” My mind runs a fast check and it occurs to me that, had Charlie been with me, of course we would have had ziplocs. Ziplocs for multiple snack items from crackers to sliced fruit, for miniature puzzles, for legos that Charlie usually does not play with; once upon a time, ziplocs for flashcards, plastic pegs, wooden blocks. Ziplocs for kleenex, for “just in case” Tylenol. I recall Charlie’s 2 1/2 year old fascination with Ziploc bags that had a [ Full article ] |
