The site is called NINJAM, short for Novel Intervallic Network Jamming Architecture for Music and it's an amazing collaborative tool. You can jam with Max from Argentina or Moritz from Moscow the world is yours to conquer with NINJAM. Just download the app and start jamming. You can tweak the audio features to your liking. You can also add effects. Each jammer can hear the other. So if your college band has had to be separated by summer break, you can still get together via the internets and practice. This is done using audio compression technology, namely OGG Vorbis, to compress the tracks and stream them to the other people in your group. After the jam session, you can even do remixes.
