USA, North Carolina: Niqab Clad Bank Robber

Authorities are not even sure if the bank robber was male or female. And, of course, they cannot definitely say that he or she is Muslim. (For the record, I hope this person it NOT Muslim.) The upshot of this will be that innocent, non-thieving women will now be challenged to remove their veils when entering local banks and businesses. This summer, when the so-called “hat bandit” was robbing banks in Northern New Jersey, some banks actually started forbidding anyone from entering if they wore a hat. This made no sense. The hat bandit (who has since been apprehended) had an extensive hat collection, but he was obviously white and middle-aged. Nevertheless, my elderly and very dark-skinned father could not enter his local bank without removing his cherished baseball cap.
