I have spent the last few posts putting some of my thoughts about the big two’s publishing practises on virtual paper. Now I would like to take the next two posts to give my overall feelings about how the two companies yearly event books compare so far. First up is Marvel’s Secret Invasion. I was really looking forward to this storyline when I first became aware of it; I liked that the writer Brian Bendis even suggested that the foundations of this story had been brewing for awhile already in the Marvel universe. (hinting that it went as far back as the first issue of New Avengers and even the House of M mini-series) The series started well enough: I found myself quickly drawn into the story with the first issue and was really looking forward to the ride to see where it was all going.
