MS Ride….fun for the whole family |

The whole family participated in an MS ride starting at a local ranch just outside of Grimshaw, Alberta that wound down through the Peace River hills to a campground along the river, just off the Shaftesbury Trail, and back up to the ranch to finish. We were trying out a pony that my husband was planning on trading for, with the intention of selling later. RJ, our oldest son, about 14 at the time, fell in love with the spunky little pinto and used him for the ride. I called him a pony, but in fact he was about 14.2, so classified as a horse, a whole inch and half taller than our other son's Arab, Dara Lee. It's just that our saddle horses were much taller and they didn't seem very big standing beside them. Our daughter was on her pony, Gypsy, about 12.5 hands. My husband had my barrel horse, Sport, and I sat bareback on Blue, a 15.2 QH X ASH. mare. We were a little short on good saddles so I'd given mine to Holly. I rode bareback a lot of the time anyway.
