BY VIRGINIA H. SHANAHAN What a fun mix of reactions I have received in the past 24 hours, in reference to yesterdays article Boil them in Big Oil? Let's start with you! The article discusses Dr. James Hansen's call to prosecute leaders in the fossil fuel industry and his hypocrisy in doing so. His reason? Hansen alleges they are spreading doubt about man-made global warming. How? By putting out misinformation, some of which makes it way into text books, and his claim that democracy is bought by these leaders via lobbyists. I have been accused of attacking Hansen for pointing out the fact that he falsified his scientific data to make it support his claims, as well as pointing out the fact that even though NASA pays for all research costs, Hansen collected $250,000 from the Heinz-Kerry Foundation, as well as $720,000 from OSI, a group run by leftist billionaire George Soros.
