What Does God Expect of His Kids? |

I’ve long been puzzled by the Scripture passage in Luke 14:26: “If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.” Not long ago I dug deep into the Word to find out what on earth Jesus meant when He said those words. Hadn’t He told us to love others? So why would He have said something so contrary to His own teaching? In my search for answers I learned that put in context He was talking about what it means to truly be His disciple–not merely a camp follower or someone who follows in name only, but is sold out to Him hook, line and sinker.
