The emergence of Twenty20 has ushered in a new era for the summer game. Unprecedented levels of investment, sponsorship and media attention have finally given cricket the brand and bravado to compete with other leading sports in the entertainment age. Ironically the concept was devised in England, often castigated as a conservative founding father, resistant to change.
