I grew up slap bang in the middle of Manchester and Liverpool. You don't need to know whereabouts exactly as they've stopped doing open-top bus trips in my honour. Basically, everyone I knew sided with Manchester. It had better bands and, more importantly, was cheaper to get to. However, I could never really differentiate between the two. I don't often agree with Tony Wilson, but I'm with him all the way when he said that he always felt that Manchester and Liverpool were twin cities.
