The amateur cooks are still competing for the golden, once in a lifetime opportunity to go into business with Raymond Blanc in The Restaurant (BBC2, Thursday, 8pm) and things are heating up as more people are being shown the door for being useless... and there are some people in this show who fit this bill. I'm probably being a bit harsh... I couldn't do it... but there are somethings that are blindingly obvious if you're trying to run an eaterie. The contestants have all been thrown in at the deep end. 'Here's your restaurant... now get on with it'. It's one thing being chucked in... it's another thing when you're being judged by one of the finest chefs and restaurateurs who ever walked the planet. Last night saw an old school friend of mine (sorry... it's still weird) and his partner facing a couple of couples to stay in the game. The pressure is on! Who is gonna hack it and who will cack it?
