TV Ratings: SOP Rules Again, ‘Newsmakers’ a Late Night Hit

GMA’s Sunday musical variety show SOP trumped it’s rival ASAP for the second week in the row. SOP registered 18% last Sunday and it featured the 48th anniversary of Regal Films and the birthday celebration of Kuya Germs. ASAP featured Backstreet Boys member Howie Dorough with a duet with Sarah Geronimo and the launching of Kris Aquino’s latest album. Both Megathirty and the GMA news and public affairs special “Newsmakers”, a documentary on Philippine Presidents, fueled Sunday late night viewing and registered higher ratings than programs on Saturday late night sked.
