Where I've Been, a Facebook Application created that lets you show the places that you have visited in the world has been bought by TripAdvisor for $3million dollars. The developer, Craig Ulliot has cashed in big time with this and despite the costs on his end ended up making a good buck out of his program. About 2.3 million Facebook users have this application resulting in about $1.30 per user for Trip Advisor. The trick will be monetizing this application, and $ 1.30 per user seems a little high. I'm more interested in the fact that an actual Facebook application has been sold, giving hope for developers out there who are in the process or have already made their own. [ Full article ] |
