Tribute To Firefighters In Northern California |

Tonight, my wife and I went over to a relatives house to enjoy a summer outdoor cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs. As we sat around and talked about the various things going on in each of our lives, in the back of my mind I was thinking about the men and women firefighters that have been working, without a day off, for almost one month to bring an out of control forest fire under control in Northern California.While some members of our family went about their normal complaining about what was either wrong with their job or home life, I thought to myself how lucky they really were to have a job and a home in the first place. Firefighters from all over the world have been working seven days a week in order to bring these Northern California fires, near Big Sur, under control for three weeks now and the best estimate of when their job will be finished is still well over one week away.It takes a special kind of person to want to be a firefighter in the first place.
