i) Fight jet lag: Drink a lot of water in order to avoid dehydration (it exacerbates jet lag) ii) Avoid alcohol or caffeine as they cause hydration iii) Wear loose clothing and bring layers as cabin pressure may change. Many times, the climate in the country you are leaving from is different from the one you will be landing in, so make sure you don't under-dress. iv) Try to stay awake until it's bedtime in your new surroundings: you want to try and get on the same clock as soon as possible to overcome jet lag. v) If you wear glasses, bring eye drops and remove your contacts Other Things to Remember: What you bring with you will be coming back home again. You will also most likely be buying things wherever you are headed, so remember that you only have so much room and that extra weight in your luggage can be very expensive. Use locks on your zippers.
