Tucked behind the Alpine Shop, Cheese Traders and Wine Sellers (more commonly referred to as Cheese Traders by the locals) is a local discounter where cheese, wine and gourmet foods can be found at incredible bargains. After a write up in the New York Times a few years back, Cheese Traders has gained a number of out-of-state shoppers. In addition, the store has always been a huge hit with area college students who want decent food for a tight budget. On any given day, Cheese Traders’ deals can vary. One thing always remains the same, however. You can go in to buy discounted cheeses and walk out with bags full of goodies. Yet, you’ll find yourself rarely paying more than $50 for bags of cheese, wine, crackers and more. To give a clearer example, take a look at my recent Cheese Traders’ shopping bill.
