Former Wisconsin Governor and Bush HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson is backing Rudy Giuliani in the 2008 Republican primary for President. Thompson made a second run for President in 2008 but like 2000 dropped out before the first vote was tallied. Thompson is not a big name and I doubt he's angling for a spot on the GOP ticket but he might be a contender for the US Senate in Wisconsin in 2010 against my friend and favorite Senator Russ Feingold who will hold the seat for as long as he wants it.
