The Anime Blog Poll: What’s Your Fave Critter In Anime?

So here’s the thing: while I’m a total sucker for cute, super deformed cats, I’m really not down with cute cat-girls, i.e. neko mimi. I have nothing against neko mimi, per se, but human girls with cat appendages are more sexy than they are cute. I can appreciate the appeal cat-girls have for other anime fans, but I simply don’t consider them one of my fave add-ons in anime. Adorable kitties aren’t the only critters in anime that I’m a sucker for; other furry, fuzzy, cuddly creatures also up the kawaii factor for me and elicit many drawn out “Awwwwww! Isn’t it a cuddly wuddly, what-ever-the-hell it is?” I have no idea why I get absolutely stupid when I see cute animals (cute human children don’t register on the Kawaii-O-Meter) but if an anime or manga has a cutesy, well designed animal character, it gets extra points from me.
