Here's a really interesting/scarey hack from the Google Blogoscoped site. It involves hacking Google Maps to get super-close zooms in the satellite veiw. And when I saw "super-close" I mean like Wayne's World extreme closeups, man! :)So, how is it done? Well, you go to Google Maps and zoom in, as far as you can, on an area you want to view. You then switch to the satellite view and click on the "link to this page" button in the top right corner. Next, you "replace the z parameter in the URL with a higher value, e.g. 20, 22, or 23, and wait."The results are pretty creepy! In one of the samples on the site you can actually see a man looking up, as if at the satellite snapping his pic. Thank God it doesn't work in my area of the world...I've already tried! To check out the whole hack click here. [ Full article ] |
