On the 24th Oct 2007, Mr. Ian Murdock, Chief OS Platform Strategist, or better known as the founder of the Debian Project in 1993, graced the School of Computing, National University of Singapore with his presence. Touching down early the same morning, Ian was en-route to transit to Bangkok. Amidst his busy schedule of meetings and conferences, he took time to make a presentation to students in NUS. The talk was held in the newly refurbished Seminar Room 1 in building COM1, which was, until recently, the Law Faculty's moot court. In a poetic sense, it reflects the notion of change in our fast-moving world. Unsurprisingly, Change' is the main theme of Ian's presentation as well. The event was attended by both undergraduates and graduates, academic staff, staff from IT Unit and Computer Centre, alumni in the professional field and friends from the NTU.
