I recently had two books on St. Therese of Lisieux mailed to me. The first one contains talks by the late great Archbishop Fulton Sheen on the little Doctor of the Church. You can buy it via Amazon, or if you have extra money, buy it from/donate to the official site of Sheen's sainthood cause. I don't have to tell you about his wonderful style. The second book deals with both St. Therese and St. Benedict. It's an interesting book by Fr. Dwight Longenecker, a Catholic priest who's married (he converted, used to be an Anglican priest). I really like his style, it's personable and engaging. He encountered the two saints while still an Anglican, and they've accompanied him since. It's a quick read and an excellent introduction to the "Little Way" and the Rule of St. Benedict. Father's blog can be found here. [ Full article ] |
