Referees who will be involved at the upcoming Club World Cup which is hosted in Japan will be trailing out the new chipped soccer ball which is part of the goal-line technology. It is hoped by using this technology the referees will come under less flack as the ball will not lie and get things wrong. Yahoo News state that fans have often giving referees abuse as they have gining the wrong decision during a soccer match, so this is hoped that fans are less likely to shout abuse and therefore could reduce the risk of football fan violence. FIFA are dubbing this the smart-ball, because if the ball crosses the goal line it will then send an encrypted message to the referee’s watch, so there is no-doubt that the decision will be right.
