Hey, "Sports in the Courts" is really smoking hot! Here is my take on the recent flurry of activity: It is no surprise that disgraced ex-NBA ref, Tim Donaghy, plead guilty today. As part of his plea agreement, Donaghy must cooperate with the FBI in its gambling investigation. The most important factor to watch is whether Donaghy will implicate another referee or player. The NBA is certainly hoping that Donaghy was a lone and rogue official who acted alone. We'll see. Michael Vick is at a crossroads. If you have been reading this blog, you should have recognized that the Feds have perfectly executed the classic prosecution strategy. The Feds have flipped (or are about to) all of Vick's three other co-defendants, who will have to testify against him.
