Today, Michael Vick's attorney confirmed that his client will be entering a plea of guilty to federal charges next Monday. The precise details of the plea are unclear, but the rumors have Vick serving a jail sentence of between 18-36 months. In prior blogs, we mentioned that Vick was in serious legal jeopardy because there was really no dispute that illegal dog fighting occurred on this property. His only defense to these charges could consist of denying any knowledge of the dog fighting scheme. Over the last few days, however, the federal government took that defense and sacked it. By obtaining guilty pleas from Vick's three co-defendants, the Feds now had all the proof they needed to show Vick's knowing involvement with illegal dog fighting. The co-defendants detailed how Vick was a participate in at least eight killings of dogs who failed to fight. The Feds may also have obtained a picture of Vick at a dog fight.
