It's a personal belief that you might learn something by listening to those who don't like you, or don't like what you do for a living, or particularly don't like what you write.Bobby Knight has provided invaluable information over the years. No, really. I'm almost serious about that.But on a much lower-profile basis than Mr. Knight, diverse names such as Mike Gundy and Stephen McGee have stepped up to the podium recently, and delivered loud lectures on sports writing evils.Yes, I was taking notes for personal reference.And since both will be in College Station on Saturday -- Gundy as the coach of Oklahoma State and McGee as the quarterback of the Texas Aggies -- there's actually some side money to be made.Here's an idea:These two can charge sportswriters $1,200 apiece for a secret [ Full article ] |
