Vivian WarbyCape TownThe economical growing of South Africa and the certainty of the country's ICT policy and regulating environment had increased the appetency of investors in the country's telecoms industry, states Communications Minister, Dr Ivy Matsepe-Casaburra.Speaking during her department's Budget Vote on Tuesday, she said this was evidenced by the increased desire to put in international cablegram capacity such as as Infraco AWCC, the government-led cable, Seacom, EASSy and UHURUnet. "Further grounds of this tin be seen in the bustle of offerings for our telecoms giants such as as MTN and Telkom."Dr Matsepe-Casaburra said the demand for increased investing in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) substructure had been highlighted by both authorities and business.A batch of cablegrams are being laid by operators in the country, especially around countries where there is very high demand by business.Government also prioritised investing in pigboat cablegrams as [ Full article ] |
