Imus May Have Deserved What He Got, But . . . |

When the pathetic old man of talk radio, Don Imus, insulted the ladies on the Rutgers Woman’s Basketball Team, in April of this year, by calling them “nappy-headed hos” he was ‘called on the carpet’ by his radio station and their bosses, and rightly so. Yes, he always does stuff like that and yes, that bit of slander against the basketball players was very mild compared to some of the other verbal attacks he’s mounted, but being a professional curmudgeon is no excuse for that particular stupidity. Imus was, as everyone knows, suspended and then fired by CBS and MSNBC and is only now settling up with his former employers and getting his radio career back on track. Throughout this mess, the ladies of the Rutgers Basketball Team acted like the high-class ladies they are and stayed as far out of the fray as they could — until now that is.
