Soap star on soapbox | Rowell returns to campaign for Hillary Clinton

Victoria Rowell, best known for her starring role on the daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” is returning to South Carolina today to campaign for Hillary Clinton.Rowell made a campaign visit to Columbia in August.Clinton, a U.S. senator from New York, is locked in a virtual tie with U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois in the South Carolina Democratic primary race, according to a series of recent polls.Clinton, Obama and former U.S. Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina all have used celebrities to campaign in South Carolina.Talk-show host Oprah Winfrey drew 29,000 people to Williams-Brice Stadium for Obama on Sunday. Edwards has campaigned with movie star Danny Glover of “The Lethal Weapon” movie franchise and with singer/actor/activist Harry Belafonte.
