You think you like reality TV? I guess that depends on the reality. How real can you take it? The blandroids in the BB house have to give up their freedom for a few weeks and make complete prats of themselves all for the sake of a few thousand quid; the contestants in The Apprentice give up their jobs looking for that dream job with Surallen paying a hundred grand; the warblers on X Factor, the dancers on Dancing with Stars, the variety acts on Britain's Got Talent, they all have a dream, and some of them have put in a lot of hours practising and perfecting their acts for that ephemeral chance at the big time. Put these things together: a dream, giving up your livelihood, moving out of your family home and even your children to different schools - and then add the kind of steaming hothouse pot-boiling pressure you see in Jamie's Kitchen or Hell's Kitchen PLUS being thrown into an empty restaurant with only a week to go before you have to open, and you begin to understand the reality [ Full article ] |
