Filed under: NFL DraftJust as my FanHouse colleague Chas Rich says Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan has been dismissed for the Heisman, I also have to think his chances of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft have taken a serious hit. Ryan is the favorite quarterback of most of the draft analysts out there (Mel Kiper ranks him as the top quarterback and the No. 3 senior prospect in college football), but he mixes in too many mistakes with his sometimes great throws. His decision-making just doesn't look like that of a top-flight prospect. An ESPN Insider survey of four NFL general managers found that Ryan is moving up draft boards, but that survey was before yesterday's game against Florida State.
