When I posted yesterday, I was a little worried that I hadn’t yet decided on what today’s blog would be about. Now, I’m glad I didn’t know because it gives me the opportunity to talk about some breaking news. I’m a huge Smallville fan, for starters. I know that comic die-harders tend to dislike the show because of how often it strays from the iconic Superman mythology, but that’s part of the reason I enjoy it so much. Everyone has heard the iconic Superman origin over and over again. This is new, fresh, and though it falls flat sometimes, the show has managed to create a whole new mythology that has managed to survive seven seasons on two separate networks that aren’t exactly known for having long-running dramas. It’s already been wide-publicized that Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) will not be returning next season and that Kristin Kruek (Lana) will only be returning for a handful of episodes.
