Former Enron exec Jeff Skilling is going to appeal his conviction. Here’s the AP lede: HOUSTON (AP) — Imprisoned former Enron chief executive Jeffrey Skilling asked Friday for a new trial, saying the Justice Department used incorrect legal theories and “coercive and abusive tactics” to win a conviction. It occurs to me that there are hundreds of detainees in Guantanamo who could use the same defense. No doubt there are untold thousands in Iraq prisons (under American control) and GWOT prisoners rendered to other countries who might also benefit from a Skilling acquittal. Just sayin’.
