Ski Season Kicks Off Early! |

It has been an amazing week for snowfall across Europe, while heavy snow has continued to fall across Canada. As a result, many ski resort are opening early for the season, which looks very promising in French-speaking countries:France has now received the snow that hit Austria last week. Conditions have been very wintry across the country with many resorts experiencing high winds at altitude. Tignes was forced to shut recently due to freezing temperatures and winds of up to 30 mph. The glacier re-opened on Thursday morning and they now have three pistes open and four lifts. Following the recent snowfalls at Val Thorens the resort has brought forward its opening date and it will now be possible to enjoy snow sports on the pistes from Saturday. Alpe d'Huez is also bringing forward its opening to Saturday. The upper levels will open and like at Val Thorens the weather will have cleared and the sun will be shining brightly overhead.
