Ugly Betty comes in with six Emmy nominations this year in five catagories. The nominees are Ugly Betty – Comedy Series, America Ferrera as Betty Suarez – Actress in a Comedy, Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater – Supporting Actress in a Comedy, Judith Light as Claire Meade and Salma Hayek as Sofia Reyes – Guest Actress in a Comedy and Richard Shepard – Directing for a Comedy. I’m a little disappointed. One of my favorite characters on Ugly Betty is Marc. He’s got attitude, wit and witchiness with a capital B down to a science. His interaction with Amanda and Wilhelmina are great but his B Witchiness with Betty is the best. I’d read an interview with Michael Urie earlier and he felt the episode of Marc coming out to his mother was an episode he’d pick to submit to the Emmy Committee.
