The Silent Hill series is known for it’s creepy atmosphere, and the haunting music in the game plays a pivotal role in making that all possible. The soundtracks in the games are composed by Akira Yamaoka, who scored them all, including sound effects. For the third and fourth games he also worked with singer, voice actress and writer Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, and became a producer on the series, giving him much more control over the game than just it’s music.
