Filed under: Falcons, Atlanta, NFL Police BlotterOn a radio appearance this morning, ESPN's excellent legal analyst, Lester Munson, compared the federal indictment Michael Vick currently faces to the one former Ravens running back Jamal Lewis faced in 2004. Lewis ended up pleading guilty and serving a two-game suspension and an off-season prison sentence. The federal indictment was a minor speed bump in his career. Munson said Vick should consider pleading guilty and following the same path. But could it really work that way? Could Vick plead guilty and be allowed back in the NFL? It wouldn't be as easy as it was for Lewis, but it's not impossible, either. First, Vick has to realize that his 2007 season is already finished. There is zero chance that he'll play this year. So if he pleads guilty now, he could start serving his sentence now, when he can't play anyway. If he's going to get convicted, he should want to get it over with right away.
