According to Politics1.com, at least one Democrat is making plans to run for President in 2012: The Rev. Al Sharpton. Politics1.com reports, "A source close to Sharpton told Politics 1 that Sharpton skipped the 2008 Presidential race because he had already decided instead to run in 2012--even if it amounts to a primary challenge against an incumbent Democratic President".Sharpton is currently the target of a federal corruption investigation in relation to his 2004 Presidential campaign, six Sharpton business ventures and the National Action Network. The issue is whether Sharpton inflated his 2004 contributions to qualify for federal matching funds.
