Sega Europe and Sega of America announced Empire: Total War today. This latest installment introduces naval combat to Creative Assembly’s multi award winning franchise Total War RTS. Empire: Total War will maintain the 3D battles, grand turn based campaign map and rich historical flavor that fans expect while allowing them to command vast fleets or single ships in 3D naval combat. Through Empire: Total War, players will experience the political clime of the 18th century; the Industrial Revolution, America's struggle for independence, the race to control Eastern trade routes and the globalisation of war on land and sea. The increasing role of gunpowder in warfare will challenge players to master new formations and tactics with the addition of muskets and cannons.
