Some tiny dinosaurs could outrun an ostrich, and even big ones such as T. rex could run down a person, say University of Manchester researchers. A supercomputer figured it out, they say. The results defy other analyses implying T. rex was a plodder. Their results are in Proceedings of the Royal Society B. They even released videos of the simplified animations used in their calculation, and included one with five dinos, a person, an ostrich, and what appears to be a chicken or maybe an emu scampering along in a race (see BBC link, below, but it’s on YouTube too).
